Spay Bus 流動手術車

The Hong Kong SPCA has a very well equipped mobile surgical operating suite which tours mainly in the New Territories . Approximately once a month it parks outside Pier 4 of the Outlying Islands Ferry Terminal in Central , serving cats and dogs from Lamma . The SPCA subsidises the charges which are therefore much below the fees of private vets and therefore are affordable by those who are too poor to pay private fees. It is also a very useful service for loosely-owned animals . Unfortunately it is sometimes abused by those who are not poor in monetary terms but are poor in spirit - it is this group of people, those who could pay private fees but won't, that cause some vets to be unhappy with the Spaybus. So please do not use it if you can afford to go private. However, from our point of view, whether the dog's family is rich or poor is not very relevant - we just want to stop unwanted litters.

Please, when you are walking around Lamma, try asking people whether their dogs and cats are desexed and, if not, persuade them to go either to their usual vet or make a booking at the Welfare Centre for the next Spay Bus. Tel: 2982 0800.

香港愛護動物協會備一部設有完善的流動手術車，主要服務新界地區。大約每月一次，該車輪會停泊於中環港外線碼頭四號碼頭外，為南丫島的貓狗服務。因於得到愛護動物協會的資助，流動手術車的收費，遠比一般私營獸醫的收費為低，令低收入人士也可以為寵物進行絕育手術，這項服務對一些被疏忽照顧的寵物，尤為重要。可惜的是，流動手術車服務有時會被一些絕對可以負擔私營獸醫服務的人士濫用，引起私營獸醫對流動手術車之不滿。因此，假若閣下可以支付私營獸醫的費用，請勿使用這項福利服務。而從本組織的角度而語，寵物之家庭是否富裕並不重要，我們只是希望減低新生貓狗的數目。

當您在南丫島上散步的時候，請您問一下身邊的寵物主人，看看他們的寵物是否經已接受絕育。如他們的答案是否定的，請您勸告他們聯絡他們的獸醫或打電話 2982-0800 與南丫島動物保護組織聯絡、預約流動手術車。
